Sydney’s leading trainer Chris Waller is spruiking his in-form mare Invincibella as the one to beat in the 2018 Group 2 $200,000 Schweppes Tristarc Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

Invincibella is the winner of two of her last three starts and with Hugh Bowman in the saddle again the bookies at Ladbrokes.com.au agree with Waller and have installed the I Am Invincible mare as the $3.80 favourite on race eve.

“She only needs to hold her form and again she should be the one to beat,” Waller wrote in weekly race day preview on twitter.

Invincibella resumed for her Spring Carnival campaign with a win in the Group 2 $200,000 Irresistible Pools Sheraco Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on September 8 and then finished fourth to Shumookh in the Group 2 $400,000 JHB Syndications Golden Pendant (1400m) at Rosehill again two weeks later.

Waller then sent the mare to Melbourne where she found her way back into the winner’s stall in the Group 2 $200,000 Blazer Stakes (1400M0 at Flemington on October 6.

Waller has reported that Invincibella has pulled up in good shape following her last start win at Flemington and should get every chance from barrier six in the fourteen horse field.

“She looks a picture of health at the moment,” Waller said.

“It was a great win last start and she has come through it very well, in fact all three runs this preparation have been of a higher standard than what we have seen from her before.”

“She has a good draw and Hugh Bowman knows her well and her work has been very good.”

The closest to Invincibella in the betting at $4.60 is the James Cummings trained Savatiano who finished second to her in the Blazer Stakes, beaten two and a half lengths.

The odds are stacked against Savatiano reversing the placings as she meets Invincibella 0,5kg worse off at the weights and she will need plenty of luck from the outside barrier.

On the next line of betting at $8 is the Lindsay Park trained Ellicazoom just ahead of Shumookh and Invincible Gem at $9 each.
