In the leadup to the Spring Carnival injury has struck again with exciting filly She’s A Fox the latest horse to be sidelined.

The Fastnet Rock three-year-old has only a minor hamstring injury but trainer Anthony Cummings has pulled down the curtains on her spring campaign in order to look after the talented youngster.

“The ligament at the back of the knee has sort of stretched a bit,” Cummings told Sky Sports Radio.

“There was an option to go and treat it and push on to the carnival.

“It’s not an uncommon problem but it’s there and she’s too good a filly to be risking now.”

She’s A Fox rocketed into Golden Rose contention late last month when she won the Optus Sprint at Warwick Farm first-up by four lengths and backed it up two weeks later for a similarly convincing win in the Listed Rosebud.

Cummings is confident the sister to Group 1 winner Foxwedge will make a full recovery and return to win some good races in the autumn.

“She’s very good and the best way to get that talent back out on the track is to give her a holiday now,” Cummings said.

Despite the withdrawal of the promising filly, Cummings still has two Golden Rose contenders with Your Song and Ninth Legion being aimed at the $1 million three-year-old feature.

Ninth Legion returned on Saturday to run fourth behind Snitzerland, Driefontein and All Too Hard in the San Domenico Stakes while Your Song has impressed in three starts over the winter.

The Fastnet Rock colt finished third on debut in June before recording two consecutive victories in Saturday races at Warwick Farm and Rosehill.
