The Group 1 $1 million Inglis Sires’ (1400m) features ten of the season’s top two-year-olds.
“Wodeton is favourite to return to winning form in the 2025 Inglis Sires’ this weekend at Randwick,” a racing analyst from Races.com.au reported.
Wodeton ($2.70), a Wootton Bassett colt, heads the Ladbrokes market.
He has placed in all four career starts but is seeking his first win since a debut victory at Rosehill in January.
His narrow loss to Marhoona in the Golden Slipper has made him a leading contender here.
“The 2021 Inglis Sires’ winner Anamoe improved on a lead-up second in the Golden Slipper, a feat Wodeton is tipped to repeat this year,” a racing expert stated.
Ryan Moore will ride Wodeton from barrier nine.
Rivellino ($4.20), trained by Kris Lees, is the second elect.
The Too Darn Hot colt has been in strong form, winning the Inglis Millennium and the Skyline Stakes.
He finished fourth in the Golden Slipper and is expected to relish the extra 200m.
Hugh Bowman will ride from barrier six.
Vinrock ($4.60), trained by Tuesday’s Vinery Stud Stakes winning horseman Matt Laurie, is considered a value contender.
The unbeaten I Am Invincible colt has won his two starts, including the Group 2 VRC Sires’ at Flemington.
Mark Zahra will ride from barrier one.
“Vinrock looks the potential value out for a hat-trick to remain undefeated come Saturday afternoon,” a racing expert stated.
Other contenders include Group 2 placed Bellazaine ($10), trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott, Ole Kirk colt Prestige Forever ($11) coming off a win at Moonee Valley, and State Visit ($11), trained by Ciaron Maher.
The 2025 Inglis Sires’ is scheduled for Randwick Race 6 at 3:20pm (AEDT) on Saturday.
