I’m Too Sexy on the Magic Millions trail

I’m Too Sexy has books herself a trip to the Gold Coast for the Magic Millions Carnival in January after winning first up in the $200,000 Magic Millions Clockwise Classic (1000m) at Ballarat on Sunday.

Trainer Mark Riley has set out a program leading up the $2m Magic Millions 2yo Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 12 after the Reaan filly lead all the way on debut at the one off Ballarat Cup meeting which was conducted in the clockwise direction or the Sydney way of going.

Defying a betting drift from $4 to $7, I’m Too Sexy was able to dominate from the front and went to the line to score a comfortable three lengths win over Ticket To Toorak who stuck to his guns in the run to the line.

“She ate up last night and was great this morning, so we’ll press-on, go straight to the Gold Coast now,” Riley said.

“I want to get a trial into her, then we’ll run in that Group 3 race at Doomben two weeks before the Magic Millions.”

Riley has pencilled in the Group 3 $150,000 B J McLachlan Stakes (1200m) at Doomben on December 29 as I’m Too Sexy’s final Magic Millions lead and is sure to run into a strong field of two year olds heading for the same goal.

The Mornington trainer only paid $30,000 for I’m Too Sexy at the 2012 Adelaide Magic Millions sales in March after her half brother Stralia has shown the stable above average ability before winning his first two race starts in July.

“I had already trialled Stralia and we knew how good he was, but having said that, she was a lovely filly at the sales and we had no hesitation in buying her,” Riley said
