Twenty-two juveniles have been entered for the colts and geldings Blue Diamond Prelude and another win by Hanseatic will see the Anthony Freedman trained two year old consolidate his spot at the top of the Blue Diamonds Stakes betting at Ladbrokes.com.au.

Hanseatic was promoted to the top of the Blue Diamond Stakes market order at $3.50 following his win in the Listed $160,000 Neds Blue Diamond Preview (C&G) (1000m) at Caulfield on January 25 and he is also the $2 favourite for this weekend’s Blue Diamond Prelude.

Freedman is expecting further improvement from the Street Boss colt this Saturday after he made it two wins from two starts at Caulfield last Saturday week.

“Obviously going forward to bigger races you want to see them put in a performance like that and put themselves ahead of them in an emphatic way,” Freedman said.

“He’ll improve.”

“He’s always been the most obvious. He’s here, he’s ready, he’s a two-year-old. There are some lovely horses at home but they’re not ready yet.”

“We like him. You never know until they’re put in against what’s around. He was impressive.”

The Peter and Paul Snowden trained Rulership was also impressive in winning a 1000m Randwick two year old Handicap on January 25 and is also among the nominations for the C&G’s Blue Diamond Prelude.
