Catkins is currently available at 2016 Millie Fox Stakes odds of $2.10 and is set to start the Group 3 event at Rosehill Gardens as a clear favourite.

Catkins started her 2015 Spring Racing Carnival campaign with an impressive win in the Group 3 Sheraco Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 12, but she produced poor performances in the Group 2 Golden Pendant (1400m) at the same venue on September 26 and was even poorer in the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on October 17.

Trainer Chris Waller admits that Catkins never really came up during the spring, but he is happy with her fitness level ahead of the Millie Fox Stakes and he is confident that she can make a winning return to the races.

“Thank god for Winx otherwise I would be nervous this Saturday as well,” Waller said.

“It just takes the pressure off Catkins a little bit.

“She has come back well.

“She didn’t reach her best form last prep and she was a little bit disappointing, but she did win first-up with a big weight.

“She has come back a bit fitter.”

First Seal is also set to return to the races in the Millie Fox Stakes and the talented mare has been backed from $3.20 into $3 since the final field was released 24 hours ago.

The daughter of Fastnet Rock missed the entire 2015 Spring Racing Carnival after she had surgery to remove a ball of skin from her hoof and she has not been seen at the races since she finished sixth in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick on April 11.

First Seal impressed with her performance in two barrier trials in the lead-up to the Millie Fox Stakes and trainer John Thompson believes that the four-year-old could return to the sort of form that she showed during the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival.

The only other horse that is available at single figure Millie Fox Stakes odds is Team Snowden-trained I’ve Got The Looks, who has been backed from $7.50 into $6.50.

I’ve Got The Looks is yet to record a race win this preparation, but she was far from disgraced in the Canterbury Classic, Takeover Target Stakes and Breeders Classic.

There has been a sprinkling of support in Millie Fox Stakes betting markets for Press Report ($21 into $15), while Telepathic ($11 out to $12) and Skyline Blush ($51 out to $61) have both been on the drift.
