Canberra Trio Aimed At Rosehill Riches

Three of Matt Dale’s best horses will line up at Rosehill this Saturday in the hope of notching up some wins for their Canberra trainer.

Unanimously, Lebrechaun and Happy Finish will all take third place at Sydney’s city meeting this weekend after proving themselves in the ACT.

It will be the fourth run in a row at Rosehill for Unanimously, who has placed in all three of his previous attempts.

The four-year-old’s most recent result was a fast finishing third to Stratford in the Congrats Lonhro Handicap in July, where he missed out on the win by just a long neck.

The Not A Single Doubt gelding has won all of his three first-up starts and Dale has no reason to believe this time will be any different.

“He is three-from-three first-up so I would definitely be expecting him to run strongly and fight for the win,” Dale said.

Unanimously was purchased at the 2009 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sales for $45,000 and has already accrued more than $230,000 in prize money.

Dale will also line up Lebrechaun in the Listed Blackwoods Festival Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday.

“It will be a very tough race, but he has great track and distance form at the moment so I’m expecting a strong showing from him,” Dale said.

The six-year-old will carry just 53 kilograms in the race, however, has drawn wide in barrier 11.

“He has proven himself with the heavier weight before so it is a real advantage to only have 53kg on his back,” said Dale.

“Drawing a wide barrier isn’t always ideal but I don’t think it will be a massive drama for him to be honest”.

The trainer will look to end the day on a high, with Happy Finish taking to the track for the final race of the day.

Dale is hopeful the lightly raced eight-year-old can post a win after unexpectedly failing at his last start.

“He has won in town before and has been winning his share of features in the country,” he said.

“He has the form and ability to do very well”.
