Bunbaberg On Brink Of Full Closure

Racing has been suspended in Bundaberg due to growing concerns surrounding the clubs financial viability and the future direction of the club.

In a double whammy Racing Queensland also chose to suspend the license of the Capalaba Greyhound Club.

The Bundaberg Race Club has capabilities to host both thoroughbred and greyhound meets but now has just 28 days to show evidence to the governing body that they are in a position to successfully host events into the future.

Racing Queensland released a statement stating they were aware of a number of internal issues at Bundaberg and had offered to direct a meeting between stakeholders to create a new business model.

As part of the suspension of the Capalaba Greyhound Club they have been granted the right to keep training facilities active however no racing will recommence until when or if a successful show cause notice is tabled.

Racing Queensland remains confident a solution can be reached which satisfies all parties and solutions can be made to keep the facilities operating into the future.
