Racing legend Black Caviar continues to grab the headlines after delivering a filly foal by Exceed And Excel this morning.

The unbeaten queen of the turf and her new born foal are reportedly doing fine hours after the trouble free birth.

“She did it all very naturally with very little assistance,” Black Caviar’s senior part owner Neil Werrett told Sydney’s Sky Sports Radio.

“The filly is outstanding with two small white socks and a bit of white across the head.

“We were lucky to arrive about five minutes before she started to give birth.

“She (Black Caviar) is great. She has taken to it like a duck to water and the first thing she wanted to do afterwards was eat.”

Leading Melbourne trainer Peter Moody, who prepared Black Caviar to win all her twenty-five starts, was quick to respond to the bright early morning news and tweeted “Well done big girl,” to his followers.

Black Caviar, by Bel Esprit out of Helsinge, wrote herself in the Australian racing folklore by remaining undefeated from her twenty-five starts from her two year old year to her six year old season and set a new Group 1 winning record of fifteen wins, surpassing the record held by the great Kingston Town by one.

Black Caviar also gained international recognition with her win in the 2012 Group 1 £500,000 The Diamond Jubilee Stakes (6 furlongs) at Royal Ascot in England and was rated the best racehorse in the world by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities between November 1, 2012 and April 28, 2013.
