Brenton Avdulla could have had his Brisbane Winter Carnival thrown into disarray after being charged with careless riding by stewards earlier in the week.
Fortunately for him though his suspension will start immediately and not interfere with his Brisbane card in two weeks time.
The charge stemmed from his winning ride on Power To Surprise in a race at Warwick farm on Sunday.
It was a powerful ride to get Power To Surprise over the line first however in the process he was found to have caused interference to Nash Rawiller and his ride Patrician’s Glory.
He pleaded guilty to the charge of careless riding but his ride on All Silent in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 is not under threat on May 28.
In making his submission to the inquiry Avdulla highlighted his hopes to maintain that particular mount.
“I’d prefer to start the suspension now because I’ve got rides in Brisbane for (All Silent’s trainer) Grahame Begg on Saturday week,” Avdulla told stewards.
He has been scrubbed out for four meetings and will next be back in action on May 25th at Canterbury Racecourse.
