The seven-year-old mare, trained by Ciaron Maher, aims to continue her successful return to racing.

“Peter Young Stakes winner Pride Of Jenni chases her fifth official Group 1 win in the 2025 Australian Cup at Flemington on Saturday,” a racing analyst from Races.com.au reported.

Pride Of Jenni was retired after a bleeding episode in the Champions Mile but returned with a dominant win in the Group 1 Peter Young Stakes.

She now seeks her fourth official Group 1 victory in the $2.5 million TAB Australian Cup (2000m).

“Pride Of Jenni is tipped to go one better than her second to Cascadian in last year’s race and become the first Australian Cup winning mare since Duais in 2022!” a racing expert stated.

Last year, she finished second to Cascadian after winning the All-Star Mile. This year, she enters the race with similar form.

The latest Australian Cup odds at Ladbrokes have Pride Of Jenni at $3.20 with regular rider Craig Newitt aboard from the inside alley in a 10-horse field for the Flemington feature.

Her stablemate, Middle Earth ($5), is the second elect.

The British-bred five-year-old won his Australian debut in the Australian Cup Prelude.

Maher also saddles up one of the form runners in the mix and value contenders, Light Infantry Man ($8.50), who finished third in the All-Star Mile at his latest.

“Light Infantry Man went around at close to $20 only to be beaten 1.3 lengths by the All-Star Mile winner and is being kept safer in the markets now not to be underrated again,” a betting analyst stated.

Zardozi ($6), trained by James Cummings, and three-time Group 1 winning mare Atishu ($6.50), trained by Chris Waller, are also among the leading fancies in the Australian Cup betting markets this year.

The 2025 Australian Cup is set for Flemington Race 8 at 4:15pm (AEDT) on Saturday.
