All Over Bosanova justified her favouritism at Doomben this morning; completing a smart performance to win the Listed Daybreak Lover Stakes (1200m).
Drawn ideally in barrier 3, the Court Command filly flew the gates and immediately took up the running; setting a fair tempo for the talented Daybreak Lover Stakes field before dropping back onto the heels of Rare Occurrence approaching the bend.
Having experienced a carefree run in transit, jockey Luke Rolls allowed the filly plenty of time to balance before asking for an extra effort in the final straight and was rewarded for the decision when he was greeted with a big turn of foot, sustained to the line.
Tactical Advantage was completely luckless in running, but found a gap between runners in the final 100m and attacked the line for second, while Rare Occurrence continued her consistent run of form in finishing third.
Rolls delivered a perfectly-timed ride aboard All Over Bosanova to win the Daybreak Lover Stakes, but was quick to lay all the praise on his talented mount and the training efforts of Mel Eggleston.
“It’s a great feeling, just even to be here and have two rides,” Rolls said.
“She’s got so much heart, this filly. She’s only tiny and all her runs this time have been super.
“She hasn’t had much luck, but she had all the luck in the world today!”
All Over Bosanova returned to racing for three consecutive race wins in Queensland minors sprints through January and February this year and returned from a freshen-up to finish a credible fifth in the Listed Mick Dittman Plate (1050m) at Doomben on April 22nd.
Caught wide in transit before running a lacklustre 12th in the Group 3 Gold Coast Guineas (1200m), All Over Bosanova hit the line well for second behind Tactical Advantage on the Harding Steel Plate (1200m) on May 20th, in what was her only other start prior to this afternoon’s triumph.
