Bott, who trains in partnership with Gai Waterhouse, said that Global Glamour has returned to Tulloch Lodge in great order following a short break and is confident she will find a place in the inaugural running of the $10 million race.

“There is a lot to happen between now and then. We’re optimistic but we don’t yet have anything set in stone,” Bott told Racing New South Wales News.

“We’d like to secure a slot but there is a number of negotiations that need to take place. We’ll prepare the filly and allow the owners to try and secure a spot.”

Global Glamour is the winner of two Group 1 races over 1600m but she is also a winner over the same course and distance as The Everest when she led all of the way to win the Group 2 $200,000 Light Fingers Stakes on February 13.

Global Glamour proved to be the best three year old filly over a mile during the 2016 Spring Carnival with wins in the Group 1 $500,000 Sydney Airport Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick and in the Group 1 $500,000 Schweppes Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield a week apart but can also handle the shorter sprint distances.

The Star Witness filly was sent for a break following her second to Derryn in the Group 2 $600,000 Arrowfield 3yo Sprint (1200m) at Randwick on April 8 and Bott has reported that she has returned to the stables in great order.

“She has returned in good order and we couldn’t be happy with the way she has strengthened and filled out,” Bott said.

“She had a couple of weeks pre-training out at Muskoka Farm and has only been in the stable for about 10 days now so it’s still early days.”

“She’ll do plenty of slow, steady work and we’ll build her up towards The Everest which is the main aim. We’ll finalise a programme as it gets closer to the date.

“It’s an incredible concept and we’d very much love to be part of it. It’s hard to ignore the huge levels of prizemoney on offer. It’s life changing really.”

“She is a quality filly, a proven Group One performer and has come back a lot stronger this campaign. We’ll definitely keep her to the shorter trips early in her preparation to keep her fresh and sharp. She’ll be trained specifically for the sprints.”
