Team Snowden is giving Gold Symphony a great chance of a scoring back to back wins when he lines up in the Listed $150,000 Carrington Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Gold Symphony found the winner’s stall for the first time in just under eighteen months when he handled the wet conditions the best as the outsider of the four horse field when he beat Imposing Lass, Song and Laughter and Girl Sunday in the BenchMark 92 Handicap (1400m) at Warwick Farm on January 7.
Co-trainer Paul Snowden admits that the small field made the job easier but the form out of the race has been franked with the Bjorn Baker trainer Imposing Lass coming out and winning the Group 3 $150,000 Gosford RSL Belle Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) at Gosford on January 13.
“He won well the other day,” Paul Snowden told AAP.
“It was a small field but he beat horses that have got form – Girl Sunday and Imposing Lass.”
“They’ve competed against a higher level and he beat them on his merits so it was good to see.”
“Maybe he might have been flattered with the wet conditions but at least the horse is back to winning form.”
Gold Symphony could get the benefit of another wet track on Saturday with the Bureau Of Meteorology forecasting showers in Sydney in the lead up to the weekend.
Gold Symphony’s last start win was his first for the training partnership of Peter and Paul Snowden from six starts and it was his fourth overall from thirteen starts after having won on three occasions under the care of Peter Moody at Caulfield.
As a three year old Gold Symphony looked very promising winning two Group 3 races at Caulfield at the start of the 2015 Melbourne Spring Carnival, the $150,000 KS Environmental Vain Stakes (1100m) and the $150,000 H.D.F. McNeil Stakes (1200m).
The Reward For Effort four year old has been weighted on the minimum at 53kg and will be up against a tougher field with last start winner Ecuador given the top weight of 61kg the tough sprinter Ninth Legion on 58kg.
Team Snowden has also nominated Princefamous for the Carrington Stakes with the five year old also being weighted on the minimum.
