A final field of sixteen plus one emergency has been declared for the world’s richest two year old with Extreme Choice’s trainer Mick Price also saddling up Flying Artie.

Extreme Choice (Craig Newitt) and Flying Artie (Damien Oliver) ran the quinella in the Group 1 $1.5m Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 27 and head the Golden Slipper market order at Ladbrokes.com.au.

Trainer John O’Shea will saddle up three Godolphin two year olds in Astern, Telperion and Calliope.

Calliope put herself back into Golden Slipper contention with a win last Saturday at Rosehill in the Group 2 $175,000 Bede Murray Magic Night Stakes (1200m).

Father and son training partnership of Peter and Paul Snowden will also have three runners in the Golden Slipper, one time favourite and Magic Millions 2yo Classic winner Capitalist, Black Opal Stakes winner Defcon and Reisling Stakes runner up Quick Feet.

Jockey Blake Shinn will stick with Capitalist while Sydney’s premiership winning jockey Hugh Bowman has elected to stay with the James Cummings trained Good Standing.

Bowman and Good Standing combined to score a three quarters of a length win in the Group 2 $175,000 Pro-Ride Skyline Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on February 27.

Cummings also has Golden Slipper first emergency Moqueen.

Gai Waterhouse has two runners in Kiss And Make Up and Scarlet Rain and has a great chance to collect her seventh Golden Slipper trophy and become the trainer with the most wins in the famous two year old race.
