Dual Group 1 winner Delicacy will race on through the Perth Summer Carnival with her next target being the Group 2 $250,000 C.B. Cox Stakes (2100m) at Ascot on December 19.

The Grant Williams trained Delicacy failed by a whisker to peg back new super star stablemate Perfect Reflection when second in the Group 1 $1m Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot in Perth last Saturday.
But prominent Perth owner Bob Peters who races the Kingston Town Classic quinella said that while Perfect Reflection would be heading to the spelling paddock, Delicacy would continue her Summer campaign.
“She will have one or two more runs and we will see what we do with her after that,” Peters said.
“We have got the Cox Stakes here, the weight for age 2100m on the nineteenth. And then we will have a look at the Perth Cup. Just look at the weights, she might get too much weight in the Perth Cup.”
A run for Delicacy in the Group 2 $500,000 Perth Cup (2400m) at Ascot on January 2 will depend on what weight she receives when they are released following the running of the C.B. Cox Stakes.
The Peters owned Real Love was successful in last year’s Perth Cup while Lords Ransom carried his pink and white colours to victory in 2010.
Delicacy was the star three year old during the Autumn when she strung together six wins on the trots which included two Oaks victories against the fillies and two Derby victories over the colts and gelding.
Delicacy won the Group 3 $250,000 Reliance Partners W.A. Oaks (2400m) and the Group 2 $400,000 Schweppes W.A.T.C. Derby (2400m) at Ascot and after sending two days in the paddock was put back into work.
The Al Maher filly then went to Adelaide where she claimed a Group 1 winning double at Morphettville with victories in the $400,000 Schweppes Oaks (registered as Australasian Oaks) (2000m) and the $500,000 South Australian Derby (2500m).
Last Saturday’s Kingston Town Classic second was Delicacy’s third run in this campaign and followed a first up third to Black Heart Bart in the Group 2 $250,000 Waroa-Lee Steere Stakes (1400m) at Ascot, in Perth on November 7 and a sixth to Good Project in the Group 1 $1m James Boag’s Premium-Railway Stakes (1600m) at Ascot on November 21.
