Matthew Dunn will present four-year-old gelding The Reveller to race at Eagle Farm tomorrow.

The Reveller finished third in his last start at the Gold Coast two weeks ago, despite the fact Dunn believes he should have won the race.

“Things didn’t go to plan in the straight,” Dunn said.

Glen Colless was questioned over his handling of The Reveller in the Karen Miller Handicap’s final stages, however, Dunn does not hold him accountable for the result.

“Sometimes they turn out to be the right (decisions) and sometimes they turn out to be the wrong ones,” he said.

Dunn has brought the Red Ransom gelding back from 1,400 metres to 1,200 metres in tomorrow’s race.

“We’ve got him back to 1200 this week,” Dunn said.

“I just want to encourage him always to settle well.

“We may got to a mile with him but at this stage we’ll just stick to the 1200-1400 (metres).”

Dunn is confident The Reveller is in tip top shape ahead of tomorrow’s run after training him over jumps at his stables.

“He’s jumped quite a bit,” Dunn said.

“He’s quite a good jumper actually.

“They only jump over things that are sort of two foot or something.

“Most of them really do enjoy it.”

Dunn will also line up Casino Card at Eagle Farm tomorrow, who won on debut last start at the Gold Coast.

“She was impressive first up,” he said.

“I don’t know where we’re going to end up from that (wide) barrier over that trip.

“(But) she deserved a go at a Saturday race before she goes to the paddock.”

Three-year-old gelding Chew The Fat will also take to the track in Brisbane tomorrow after posting a disappointing sixth place performance on Magic Millions Day last weekend.

“First-up the race was probably not the right race for him, it was too short,” Dunn said.

“When things don’t go right in races he tends to react badly to it.

“He proved last preparation he’s more than up to a city Saturday event.”
