Dandino finally recorded his first Australian race win in the Group 3 Queen’s Cup (2600m) at Flemington last weekend and he has the chance to make it back-to-back victories this weekend.

The Dansili entire’s career reached a crossroads when he suffered a tendon injury in the lead-up to the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) last year, but he improved each time he was seen at the races this preparation and he finished fourth in the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at Flemington on October 4 and second in the Group 3 Geelong Cup (2500m) on October 21 before he outstayed his rivals to take out the Queen’s Cup.

The Melbourne Cup is always a key lead-up to the Zipping Classic and that will the case again in 2015 after Who Shot Thebarman and Sertorius were included in the entries for the $300,000 race.

Who Shot Thebarman did not have a great deal of luck in the Melbourne Cup and he weakened in the final stages to finish 11th behind Prince Of Penzance, while Sertorius was shuffled through the field and was still able to make up good ground late to finish 12th.

Rising Romance did not contest the Melbourne Cup, but she still brings strong form into the Zipping Classic and she looks well-placed in the Group 2 event.

The Australian Oaks winner failed to fire in both the Turnbull Stakes and the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m), but she returned to her best form with a close second in the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes (2000m) at Flemington on Victoria Derby Day.

Rising Romance is joined in the Zipping Classic field by fellow mares Kirramosa and Do You Remember.

Kirramosa relished the step-up in trip to finished third behind The Offer and Divan in the Group 3 Bendigo Cup (2400m) on October 28, while Do You Remember will have just her second start in Australia after being outpaced in the Group 3 Tesio Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley on October 24.

The 2015 Zipping Classic field is rounded out by Darren Weir-trained Tall Ship and Mornington Cup placegetter Don Doremo.

Tall Ship has been an inconsistent performer during the 2015 Spring Racing Carnival, but he gets to his first distance for the first time this preparation and Don Doremo comes off a more than credible third in the Queen’s Cup.
