Press Statement stamped himself as a leading Caulfield Guineas contender after he took out the Group 1 J.J. Atkins (1600m) during the 2015 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival and he remains on track to contest the Group 1 event after he finished second in the Group 2 Run To The Rose (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on August 29 and had no luck in running in the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 12.

The Hinchinbrook colt has been included in the nominations for the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m), but he is set to remain in Sydney for the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.

The Stan Fox Stakes produced the winner of the 2014 Caulfield Guineas in Shooting To Win and Caulfield Guineas second acceptors like Rageese, Shards, Metallic Crown, Winning Accord, Man Of His Word and Maven Wiz are all set to run in the Group 2 event this weekend.

Ready For Victory is the other colt that is at the top of 2015 Caulfield Guineas betting markets, despite failing to win both the Group 3 McNeil Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on August 29 and the Group 2 Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on September 12.

The More Than Ready colt will have the chance to return to winning form in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude on Saturday and he could face Dal Cielo, Odyssey Moon, Bon Aurum, Last Bullet, Manhattan Blues, Lizard Island, Snoopy, More Than Most, Mr Individual, Dark Steel, Moher, Extra Choice, Puritan, Strike Force, Tulsa, Santa Ana Lane, Tivaci, Loyalty Man and Iron Boss, who have all been included in the 2015 Caulfield Guineas second acceptances.

A horse that is set to take a different form line into the Caulfield Guineas is Mick Price-trained Celtic Tiger, who claimed his maiden race win with a very narrow victory in the Listed Morphettville Guineas (1600m) on September 12.

Basset has been included in the Caulfield Guineas second acceptances following the payment of a late entry, but trainer Peter Moody is unsure how the three-year-old will get to the race following his impressive win in the National Jockeys Trust Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on September 19.

Press Statement is currently available at 2015 Caulfield Guineas odds of $3.50 and he is a narrow favourite from Ready For Victory ($3.70), Bassett ($8), Santa Ana Lane ($13), Rageese ($13), Mr Individual ($15), Bon Aurum ($15) and Tulsa ($15).
