Art Cadeau continued his winning ways at Randwick on Saturday by claiming the $1.3 million Kosciuszko (1200m) in his first run back from a spell.
Terry Robinson’s classy gelding made it four wins from his last four starts, in large part thanks to another peach from the in-form Tommy Berry.
After winning the Country Championship in his one and only start during the autumn, Art Cadeau returned the $3.90 favourite in the capacity field with a win over 1200m under his belt.
Berry chose to box-seat in behind the speed, a move that proved to be a winning one as they moved up out wide down the straight to wear down a very brave Handle the Truth right on the line.
Handle the Truth got the gun run along the rail and took up the lead at the 400m mark but was unlucky to be nailed late for second.
Spiranac filled the minors with a good late run under James McDonald, while Edit finished in a dead heat for fourth despite missing the jump.
More to come.
