Dixie Blossoms opened at $7 with Ladbrokes.com.au when the fields were released on Wednesday and is now sharing the second line of betting at $6.50 with the consistent Don’t Doubt Mamma and the West Australian filly Whispering Brook.

Group 1 winning mare First Seal sits at the top of the market order at $4.50 and heads into the Myer Classic on back of last start win in the Group 2 $200,000 Schweppes Tristarc Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on October 15.

Dixie Blossoms is also a last start winner from a wide barrier in the Group 3 $150,000 Angst Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on October 8 and trainer Ron Quinton expects the Street Sense mare to get a better run from barrier four in the fifteen horse Myer Classic field.

“She won last time but again had to overcome a wide gate meaning we had to ride her aggressively. I think she’s a better horse ridden with a sit,” Quinton told Racenet.

“The draw is perfect. It will allow Timmy (Clark) to put her where he wants without having to do any extra work.

“She’s got the Sydney mares form which is holding up. It’s all looking pretty good at the moment.

“She arrived in Melbourne this morning and the reports are good,” he said. “She’s a lovely and quiet mare so I was confident she’d travel well and that appears to be the case.

“I think she’ll run well.”

Tim Clark has been Dixie Blossoms regular rider for her last four starts in Sydney and gets the ride again in the Myer Classic.

First Seal looks to be back to her best form with her last start win in the Tristarc Stakes and gets a great chance to collect her second Group 1 win, adding to her win in the Group 1 $400,000 Coolmore Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick as a three year old filly.

Blake Shinn steered First Seal to her Tristarc Stakes win and will be able to give the Fastnet Rock mare the run of the race again from barrier one.

Perth filly Whispering Brook has also drawn well for Chris Parnham at barrier two and with only 49kg on her back is certain to be figuring in the finish again following her last start third to Global Glamour in the Group 1 $500,000 Schweppes Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on October 8.

Market order for the Myer Classic at Ladbrokes.com.au: $4.50 First Seal, $6.50 Dixie Blossoms, Don’t Doubt Mamma, Whispering Brook, $9 Danish Twist, $14 Euro Angel, $15 Heavens Above, $18 I Am A Star, $21 Serene Majesty, Pearls, Rising Romance, $26 Denmagic, French Emotion, $34 Pure Pride, $61 Zanbagh.
