2014 Randwick Guineas Tips: Eurozone and Bull Point The Value

Eurozone and Bull Point are the 2014 Randwick Guineas tips for Dominic Beirne; with the leading form expert of the belief that both colts represent value at their current odds for the Group 1 event that will be run at Royal Randwick tomorrow.

Eurozone started his autumn campaign with an impressive second place finish behind Moment Of Change in the Group 1 Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 8 before finishing fourth in the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington on March 1, while Bull Point took out the Group 3 Manfred Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 1 and was far from disgraced in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) at the same venue three weeks later.

Beirne told RSN this morning that he was impressed with the performances of the two colts in Melbourne and believes that they are the two value runners in 2014 Randwick Guineas betting markets.

“They have almost identical profiles; they both had half a dozen runs last year in Sydney and they went to Melbourne for a couple of starts,” Beirne said.

“They both raced very, very well in Melbourne and their figures make them deserving of being a little shorter in the market than what is currently available.”

Kiwi colt El Roca remains favourite in 2014 Randwick Guineas betting markets after impressing with his performances in both the Listed Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on February 15 and the Group 3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) at Warwick Farm on March 8.

Beirne said that El Roca is a deserving favourite for the Group 1 event, but is of the opinion that it is tough to back the Fastnet Rock colt at his current quote, due to the number of genuine winning chances in the race.

“El Roca is advancing and I think that he is going to get across and get a good run,” Beirne said.

“I think that he is a deserving favourite, but it is very difficult to get a favourite in short if there is quite a bit of depth in the race.

“I could probably dismiss four horses and the rest deserve to be 30/1 or less.”

There are currently six horses that are available at Randwick Guineas odds of less than $10; with El Roca ($4.20), Atlante ($6), Bull Point ($8), Eurozone ($8), Dissident ($8) and Savvy Nature ($9.50) all receiving support to win the $600,000 race.
