Sweet Idea was beaten a head by Real Surreal in last year’s $2m Jeep Magic Millions 2yo Classic (1200m) and heads a field of sixteen plus five emergencies after final declarations were taken today for the three year olds with the barrier draw to be held at Surfers Paradise on Tuesday.

Sweet Idea, with James McDonald to ride again, will clash again with the Peter Moody trained Weinholt who ran the Waterhouse filly to within half a length when the pair quinellaed the $100,000 Wyong Magic Millions 3yo Stakes (1200m) at Wyong on December 19.

Under the set weights and penalties, Charlie Boy with Michael Rodd to ride, will have to carry the top weight of 58kg while the in-form Into The Red with Chris Munce aboard is the second top weigh with 57.5kg.

Charlie Boy will be tackling the 1400m first up but trainer Gerald Ryan has given the three year old colt a good grounding with two solid barrier trials, a win over 900m at Rosehill on December 24 and a third over 1050m at Randwick on January 3.

While the Kelso Wood trained Into The Red is a Doomben winner two starts back in the  Listed $100,000 Trade Coast Legal Gold Edition Plate (1200m) at Doomben on December 14 followed by a second to Flight King over 1200m at the Gold Coast last Saturday.

Enquare will be trying to give trainer Jason McLachlan back to back wins in the Magic Millions 3yo Guineas after Saluter stormed home to take out the feature race last year.

The Stratum filly is racing in outstanding form with wins from her last four starts, including a last start win over Gundy Spirit and Missy Longstocking in the Group 3 $150,000 Vo Rogue Plate (1350m) at Doomben on December 28.

The Waterhouse stable is looking for its third win in the 3yo Guineas after collecting the trophy in  2002 with Ha Ha and with Biaggio in 2003 and will also saddle up the Northern Meteor filly Northern Glory who will be ridden by Tommy Berry.
