Jockey Rachel King is set to break the code when she rides Encryption in Saturday’s Group 1 $1.25m Seppelt Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington.

Kings has been called up buy trainer James Cummings to ride the lightly weighted Encryption who has an excellent chance to knock off the highly rated stablemate Osborne Bulls who is the current $4 favourite for the Newmarket Handicap at Ladbrokes.com.au
“Selecting me to ride Encryption is a big confidence boost as well,” King told racing.com.
“Whilst the horse does have a light weight in the Newmarket, I’m sure there’s many jockeys who would have been putting their hand up to ride him.
“It’s one thing to have a ride in a Group 1 race but it’s particularly exciting to have a ride on a horse with an excellent chance.”
Encryption has been a drifter in the betting from $17 to $21 but heads to Flemington with good Group 1 form following his second to Booker in the $500,000 Ladbrokes Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on February 23.
Cummings was impressed with Encryption’s fast finishing second in the Oakleigh Plate and is not discarding the chances of the three year old who is a winner over the Newmarket Handicap course and distance.
“Encryption justified the high regard we have for him by jumping out of the ground in the Oakleigh Plate,” Cummings said.
“He’s two-from-three in straight races, so he ought to be at home under the conditions.
“On what we know about him, he’s a great chance.”
Encryption has drawn near the outside and will jump from gate sixteen while Osborne Bulls is out near the grandstand side fence in twenty-one with Hugh Bowman in the saddle.
Osborne Bulls is also a winner over 1200m down the Flemington straight with a win in the Group 2 $300,000 Linlithgow Stakes (1200m) on the first day of the 2018 Melbourne Cup Carnival and has returned in superb form with an eye catching nose second to In Her Time in the Group 1 $750,000 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) at Flemington on February 16.
