Front running three year old Boomsara has the ammunition to overcome a wide barrier in Saturday’s $2m Gold Coast Magic Millions 3yo Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast.

Jockey Damian Browne let Boomsara stride to the front barrier twelve for an all the way win in the Group 3 $200,000 Magic Millions Vo Rogue Plate (1350m) at Doomben on December 29 and the experienced jockey will most likely employ the same tactics after the gelding drew eighteen in the original barrier draw for the Magic Millions 3yo Guineas.

Boomsara will more than likely jump from gate thirteen in the final sixteen horse field if all of the emergencies fail to get a start and trainer Chris Munce said that the back in-form gelding has shown in the past that he can win from a wide draw.

The son of Spirit Of Boom is also a winner on the Gold Coast track over 1200m when he led all of the way from the outside gate in a thirteen horse field to claim the $250,000 QTIS Two Years Old JEWEL in March last year.

“It (wide barrier) is not ideal but he has won his races from outside barriers when he won the QTIS Jewel here was a wide draw and he won the Vo Rogue from a bad draw so it is probably not the end of the world with a horse like him who he seems to be a free rolling, long striding type of horse,” Munce said.

Munce reported that Boomsara has come through his Vo Rogue Plate run in extremely good order and impressed the trainer with a solid hit out on the Eagle Farm course proper on Tuesday morning.

“Very happy with him. He galloped up nicely this morning (Tuesday) on the course proper at Eagle Farm, stretched his legs nicely and had a nice little blow afterwards and recovered very quickly.

“It was a good gallop and he has really improved since his Vo Rogue run.”

Boomsara is on the second line of betting at $4.20 with Ladbrokes.com.au for the Magic Millions 3yo Guineas behind the $2.60 favourite Outback Barbie who will jump from barrier two with James McDonald in the saddle.

Next in the betting at $10 is the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained Star Fall (Linda Meech) just ahead of Bondi (Kerrin McEvoy) and The Fire Trap (Hugh  Bowman) at $12.
